The most important threat to the tile and ceramic industry is low-quality production and export. Nasrullah Shariffard, the vice chairman of the board of directors of the tile producers’ union, also stated in this meeting that more than 40 to 45 percent of the country’s tiles are produced in Yazd. He mentioned issues such as the quality, variety and size of tiles and the production of tiles according to the customer’s taste, among the internal problems of the tile producers’ guild, for which a solution should be thought of.
Sharif Fard pointed to the export of low-quality tiles in the field of non-union problems of the tile industry and stated: “The export of low-quality tiles has harmed this industry and some people who export low-quality tiles for short-term benefits should be stopped.” .
Ahmad Salvati, the executive director of the trade association of tile and ceramic manufacturers, said in this meeting: Now, low-quality tiles have caused irreparable damage to the tile industry, so the standard and customs should be more careful in the field of the quality of exported tiles.
