The head of the tile and ceramic association of the province, pointing to the prevailing stagnation in this industry, stated: despite these problems and problems, the production capacity in the factories of the province decreased by 50%; But with the efforts and resourcefulness of the province’s artisans in this field, no tile and ceramic factory was closed in the province.

This Yazdi craftsman pointed out that the return of money from the sale of ceramic and tile products is long-term and sometimes lasts for more than a year, and continued: This is despite the fact that paying expenses such as gas and electricity in short-term periods of 15 days and two months It should be done and this has created many problems for tile and ceramic artisans.

The government does not provide acceptable support for the export of ceramic tiles

Criticizing the fact that the government does not support exports in this field as it should be, the vice president of the Tile and Ceramic Association of the country stated: opening of credit to receive export money has not happened yet.

Sharif Fard continued: The relevant government agencies, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, do not have the necessary cooperation with the industrialists and exporters of this field.

Referring to the numerous export problems, he continued: the customs duties charged in Iraq from Iranian exporters are higher than in other countries, and this issue takes away the ability to export from tile and ceramic producers, and the government officials should intervene in this matter.

The head of Yazd Tile and Ceramic Association continued: In a country like Pakistan, which is a good target market for the country’s products, Turkey has about 26 marketers and specialists in this matter. And this is despite the fact that the country of Iran has employed only one person for this important and follow-up related matters.

The high cost of transportation and the lack of necessary facilities in some customs of the country and numerous problems with goods clearance were among the other problems mentioned by the vice president of the Tile and Ceramic Association of the country in the discussion of exports.

He went on to explain that in addition to the fact that a significant part of the sales revenue of these factories is realized after several months, a large part of the revenue is never realized due to bounced checks or financial problems of the buyers. has also been taken and in tax installments, the delay in the incomes of the factories is not taken into account as it should be.

In the end, Sharif Fard emphasized the importance and role of the province’s tile and ceramic industry and the problems of the active factories in the province, which caused them to delay the payment of their workers’ salaries for several months. The sales of the products of these factories are decreasing these days, officials and departments such as gas, electricity and tax should have more interaction and cooperation with these factories.

It should be mentioned that in this meeting, managers of gas, electricity, customs, labor and social cooperation departments and relevant provincial officials were also present.

Iran’s tile and ceramic production in 2014 was equivalent to 3.3% of the investment in the world’s tile and ceramic sector, according to this, Iran has a good position in the production of ceramic tiles in the world.

The head of the Yazd Industry, Mining and Trade Organization further identified some of the problems of this industry in the province as banking, tax, water, electricity and social security problems, some of which have been solved in the facilitation working group, he noted: One of our priorities in the long term is planning to enter global markets.

Currently, there are 125 tile and ceramic production units with a capacity of 550 million square meters of production and employment for more than 40 thousand people in the country, of which 67 units with 17 thousand workers belong to Yazd province.
