Iran Economy: CEO of Mahabad Petrochemical Company stated that since the beginning of this year, about 32 thousand tons of products of this company have been exported, and said: the value of these products reaches 35 million dollars.
According to Iran Economic News Agency, Mohsen Majidi said: 37,000 tons of products have been produced in Mahabad Petrochemical this year, of which 32,000 tons including 87% have been exported.
Pointing out that he moves about 30 tril of Mahabad’s petrochemical products daily, he added: This year, the majority of this company has been to China.
He added: Mahabad Petrochemical Complex produces light and heavy linear polyethylene and ‘butene one’ and sends it to domestic and foreign markets.
The Mahabad Petrochemical Project has been built in the form of the construction of an ethylene transmission line from Asalouye to the west of the country, with a length of 1,600 square meters, so that about 324,000 tons of ethylene as the main feedstock of this petrochemical can be injected from Asalouye to this complex every year.
On the route of this transmission line, 6 petrochemical units have been built in areas such as Khorramabad, Kermanshah, Mahabad, Miandoab and Sanandaj, and the needs of all these units are supplied through this pipeline.
Mahabad Petrochemical Complex produces 300,000 tons of linear light and heavy polyethylene (nominal capacity) and 30,000 tons of “Butane One” and sells it to domestic and foreign markets.
This project, whose preliminary and study activities have been carried out since 2013 and its executive operations since 2018, has been built on a land with an area of 185 plots at km 15 of the Mahabad-Urmia road.
Abad Petrochemical Complex has been created for about 600 people directly and about 3000 people indirectly thanks to the efforts of Mahd and Omid in Tadbir government. This project will indirectly provide employment for four thousand people after its full operation in the handicraft sector.
Mahabad city with a population of about 237 thousand people is located 125 km south of Urmia, the center of West Azerbaijan.
