The Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade stated: Fortunately, in the budget of 1997, due to the efforts of the members of the Islamic Council, some of the weak points of the existing laws and regulations to support domestic production have been resolved. He continued to list the movement towards the modernization and reconstruction of Iran’s industries as one of the positive actions of the people’s representatives in the parliament and said: the result of this movement is the possibility of providing competitive products in the field of national and international markets. Shariatmadari added: “Many industries today are facing the problem of old machines and production lines, so you want these units to be equipped with modern technology.” He added: The process of renovating factories with a high interest rate of bank facilities was progressing slowly in the country despite various problems on the way to production such as insurance, social security, income tax and other issues. The Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade stated: The country’s industries need reconstruction and modernization, and in order to pursue this goal, the interest rates of bank facilities were not responsive to this movement, therefore, in the form of the 1997 budget, an amount of 32 thousand billion Tomans was approved to subsidize the interest of the facilities granted to producers in The country level should be paid so that they can modernize their machines. In another part of his speech, regarding the issue of exports and the opening of international markets related to domestically produced goods, he said: For many years, Iran’s economy was deprived of export incentives. Shariatmadari added: In the budget of 1997, the parliament has provided 1,500 billion tomans of resources in this connection, and it is hoped that these resources will be allocated in the coming year, so that Iranian goods can be more actively present in the international arena.
